About Us

Hidden Lake Outfitters is a family owned guide service nestled in the Ruby Mountains in Northeastern Nevada. Operating for over 30 years and with lifelong Nevadans as guides, few outfitters are able to offer the skill and expertise of Hidden Lake Outfitters. Head guide and owner Henry Krenka still lives on his family’s 125 year old ranch which serves as base camp for many hunts. He is also the president of the Nevada Outfitters and Guides Association. 

On top of doing our best to show you trophy game we strive to make sure you have an enjoyable experience. We offer a variety of hunts from mountain lion, Rocky Mountain Elk, mule deer, game bird, and nearly all Nevada game and will do all that we can to help you get that highly sought after Nevada big game tag. 

Services

Hidden Lake Outfitters offers a variety of both hunting and non hunting services. Guests can hunt mule deer, Rocky Mountain Elk, mountain goat, antelope, big horn sheep, and mountain lion. We are also one of the few outfitters in the world that offer Himalayan Snow Cock hunts along with blue grouse, chucker, and all Nevada upland game birds. Though we hunt primarily in Area 10 and 6, in Northeastern Nevada, we are licensed and able to guide nearly everywhere in the state. In addition to hunting trips, we cater to fishing, photography, camping trips, and general trail rides. 

Nevada’s Restricted Non-Resident Mule Deer Tag Draw – Improve your tag chances

This tag application is for the serious Mule Deer Hunter. Every year up to 400 Mule Deer tags are set aside from the non-resident hunting pool for those hunters who want to specifically hunt with an outfitter or guide. The success rate for my clients for drawing a tag in this draw has been about 95% for certain hunts. The average success rate for the non-resident to draw a tag in the regular draw is about 30%. The applications are available in mid-February with the draw being held in mid-March. Please contact us if this interests you and we’ll get you started.

Hunt Options

There are two popular options available for hunting trophy game. Prices will vary depending on species, type, duration and area of your hunt but we assure you that our prices are very competitive and lower than most outfitters. 

Hunt #1

Base camp for this hunt is located high in the mountains. You will be guided through peaks on horseback in search of your trophy. You will also be provided with lodging and camp fire meals. You will need to provide all other personal gear for this hunt. This is a minimum five-day hunt. 

Hunt #2

This option is a drop camp into secluded areas high in the Ruby Mountains on your area. Hunters will be taken to and from their camp sight but will need to furnish all gear including food.
